ILA 2004

Und wieder war die militärische Übermacht zu spüren. So hatte die deutsche Luftwaffe gleich zwei repräsentative Standorte auf dem Gelände angemietet. Bemerkenswert waren die zahlreichen historischen Flugzeuge, welche sich zur Berlin Air Show einfanden. Absolutes Highlight war der Besuch einer, erst kurz zuvor aus den USA überführten, Lockheed "Constellation". Im gleichen Atemzug sollte man aber auch die wiederaufgebaute Dornier Do-24ATT nennen.

Abschliessend noch die Bemerkung, dass leider wieder Flugzeuge von Boeing oder Embraer und auch die angekündigte Tupolev TU-334 nicht erschienen sind. Immerhin hat es aber die mächtige AN-124 geschafft, die russische Luftfahrtindustrie zu vertreten.

For the first time under the new motto " Berlin Air Show ", this year's international air and space exhibition took place from May 10th. until 16th. However, the ILA2004 should become this new motto more than just, because to find new and innovative airplanes on the showing terrain was so simple not at all. Airbus Industries, as a big and loyal exhibitor, sent three airplanes into the race, with which another prototype of the A340-600 and the A318 with re-equipped engines was already very interesting. On May 15th., Lufthansa gave itself the honor with an A330-300, which was recently delivered new to the airline.

And again the military superior strength was to be sensed. So, the German Air Force had immediately rented two representative locations on the terrain. But the numerous historic airplanes, which appeared to the Berlin Air Show, were remarkable. A highlight with no doubt was the visit of the Lockheed "Constellation", the first official appearance after the transfer flights from the United States. However, in the same breath should we name also the rebuilt Dornier Do-24ATT.

The sad note to conclusion is that airplanes of Boeing or Embraer and also the announced Tupolev TU-334 have not appeared unfortunately. After all, the mighty AN-124 has managed it to represent the Russian aviation industry.
