ILA 1998

Neben der Vorstellung des Airbus A330-200 und dem erstmaligen Erscheinen eines Frachtflugzeuges vom Typ C-17 von Boeing, hatten die russischen Flugzeugbauer von Antonov die AN-70 und Iljushin ihre modernisierte Variante der IL-76 mit im "Gepäck". Alle vier Flugzeuge waren nicht zu übersehen und somit stets umlagert von Schaulustigen und Fotografen.

In der Sparte Geschäftsreiseflugzeuge gab es auch einige neue Typen zu sehen, wobei hier die neue Gulfstream 5 von Gulfstream Aerospace und die Cessna-750 "Citation X" zu nennen sind. Mehrere Besuche von Douglas DC-3 und der Versuch einer weltgrössten Antonov AN-2 Formation im Fluge rundeten, in der Thematik Oldtimer, die überaus vielseitige Schau ab.

Der Bildteil hier unten soll wieder nur einen kleinen Überblick geben und somit keinen Anspruch auf Vollständigkeit besitzen.

During the ILA 98, which took place from May 18th. until 24th., more than 226.000 visitors were counted and this number was a proof again for a rising success. On the other hand the air show was dominated again by a large present of military airplanes, however there were also a few interesting visitors from the civil aviation scene.

Beside the arrival of an Airbus A330-200 and the first time appearance of a cargo airplane of the type C-17 by Boeing, the russian aircraft factory Antonov brought the AN-70 and Ilyushin its modernized variation of the IL-76 to this show. These four airplanes could not be overlooked and in this consequence were always surrounded by watchers and photographers.

Two new airplanes were displayed in the biz-jets area. At first the new Gulfstream 5 from Gulfstream Aerospace and the second was a Cessna-750 "Citation X". Several visits of Douglas DC-3 and the attempt of a world biggest Antonov AN-2 formation in flight rounded off the extremely versatile show in the topic of oldtimer.
