einige mobile Chalets aufgebaut.
The third International Aerospace Exhibition (ILA) was held
at the southern part of the airport in Diepensee from May 13th. until
19th.
There was again an increasing number of visitors which counted over 215.000
and this surely also depended with the high number of the announced airplanes.
Several hangars and some mobile chalets were additionally
build, giving now more than 400 announced companies the corresponding
showroom for their products. However Airbus Industries was again
dominating the civil display and Boeing again remained distant with
showing his civil airliners on production.
From the view of a spotter and aviation enthusiast, the
ultimate highlight of the ILA 1996 was the appearance of an old propliner.
Flown in from South Africa, the Douglas DC-4 in the old colors of South
African Airways should us honoring with her presence. No doubt that she
was always fully booked on the offered round-flights and surely the most
photographed plane during the air show.
